Possibly.........
The Most Unusual Arts Show in Sussex!
The Turners Hill arts and crafts festival was originally set up in 2009 to
showcase and sell the work of many amateur and professional artists in
the Turners Hill Area.
In the three years this festival has now been running it has attracted
professional artists from across the county and the high quality of arts
and crafts now being displayed annually has exceeded all original
expectations.
In 2010 a new angle was added; a poetry competition. Anyone with an
interest in poetry is invited to submit their poem. There will be a prize
for the best poem in each group and all poems submitted will be made
available for sale to the public in a book.
The setting for the festival is unusual. St Leonard’s Church in Turners
Hill is a late Victorian country church that provides a superb arena for
arts and crafts and itself boasts beautiful stained glass windows, the
work of the eminent Victorian artist, Charles Eamer Kempe.
Artists may display their work for free but the organisers request a
percentage of any sales. All money raised from sales of artwork is
divided between the Family Support Group the upkeep of St Leonard’s
Church.
