St Leonard's Church,Turners Hill
St Leonard's has eight cast bells dating from 1924. All were installed when the tower was erected in 1925 as a war memorial to those men from Turners Hill who gave their lives in World War One. There are a number of original battlefield crosses displayed inside the tower which may be of interest to any military historians.
Ringing practice is every Tuesday between 7 and 8 pm and since we are all quite new to the art, is generally confined to call changes rather than method ringing.
It is a relaxed atmosphere and there is more emphasis on ringing for fun rather than practicing for competitions and during the warm summer months a stroll to the village pub for a pint or two is a fine way to relax the muscles!
