St Leonard's Church is situated on the edge of the village of Turners Hill in West Sussex. It occupies a commanding position and at some 600 feet high has magnificent and uninterrupted views from the north to south downs.
Built in 1895 it is a village church typical of the period and is the work of the eminent Victorian architect Lacey Ridge. It has a fine interior with pews carved in English Oak and some excellent examples of stained glass by the noted Sussex artist, Charles Eamer Kempe whose work can also be seen in Canterbury Cathedral.
This wonderful Church is always open and offers a place of peace and tranquillity for anyone wishing to escape from busy 21st century life and spend a while in calm contemplation.
